So I figure with the continuous streams of everyone asking the same questions without doing a simple search, I'd just compile a list of Frequently Asked Questions, commonly known by the acronym FAQ:

Q: How do I download the game? or
Q: Where is the download link?
A: There is no download link displayed on the site.  To play the game, you first must donate.  View the following topic on how to obtain access to the game: http://stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=2.0

Q: How long does it take to get activated after you donate?
A: Being that Meiun has to approve every account on a case-by-case basis, there is no set time.  On average, users report that it takes less than 24 hours, but this depends on Meiun's availability.  It will happen though, so don't think you're been ignored.

Q: Why do I have to donate?
A: Despite any misconceptions, it does cost money to host the server.  The donations are an as-is contribution to the cause, without any written guarantees or promises for anything.  It is a cheap and good gesture to show your appreciation towards a small team's efforts at bringing together a good community of players.

Q: I can't donate, can I still play?
A: A public donation pool has been made available on a first-come, first-serve basis, view this topic for more details: http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=1807.0  If there are no accounts available at the moment, there should be shortly, be patient.

Q: I deleted my Stick Online client and can't find Meiun's email, how do I download it again?
A: Email him directly at , and he will verify you donated, then send you an email with details on how to re-acquire the client.  Do not post on this forum asking for the download link.  No one will (or should) post it publicly.  This is done on purpose.

Q: I get an error when I try to connect to Stick Online, what should I do?
A: You can either post a topic in this forum: http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?board=10.0 or you may email Meiun at which may yield a quicker response, as it is likely the server is having difficulties.

Q: There's nobody on, how can I encourage others to join me online?
A: View the following topic regarding an initiative taken by Lucifer as an attempt to reinvigorate user's presence in game: http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=2199.0  You might also view the portion on the bottom half of the topic regarding the use of an unofficial chat server, where there are always at least a few on, and are willing to help when they can if you need help with anything in-game.

Q: I see a boss (i.e. Sand Golem) in game and need help, how can I get people's attention?
A: Post the siting in the following topic, and other's will help you.  Please ensure that you are courteous and post again when it is killed (edit your post if no one responds) so other's don't go out of their way to help only to find out that it was long dead: http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=144.0

Q: When will SOv3 be out?
A: Meiun is under no obligation to release SOv3, but develops it to further improve and utilize his skill sets that he's learned.  He is actively developing it, and plans to release content as soon as its available.  Upon having content worth displaying to users (whether or not it is a full releasable game or just sneak peaks), he will likely begin to give more frequent updates.  It is coming, rest assured.

Q: What's the progress of SOv3?
A: It's a work in progress still, albeit more progress than you may initially suspect.  In late June, Meiun released a broad overview of what to look forward to (at least what has been implemented right now) the details can be found in the following topic: http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=2180.0

Q: Will SOv3 be free-to-play?
A: At the current moment, according to statements made by Meiun, SOv3 will be free to play.  Donations will still be encouraged and highly appreciated, as nothing will change in that it will cost money to host the server and maintain the web server.

Q: When Stick Online V3 comes out will we lose our old characters?
A: Unfortunately you will need to start over with a fresh slate.  Version three of Stick Online has been completely redone from the ground up, and shares little to no similarity in the underlying code as version two did.  To migrate accounts from the v2 to v3 is not feasible due to differences in how the game will work (e.g. finances, leveling, etc...).

Q: Will there be any perks for donors in SOv3
A: Meiun values those who are faithful and willing to contribute to his game development.  He does not have any solid plans on how to thank the members when SOv3 comes around, but will explore unique ways to giving back to the donors.  This will likely come in the form of extra perks in the game that do not give a donor a gameplay advantage over another, but will have some cool bragging points!

Q: I tried to ask a question not viewed in this FAQ, but Meiun hasn't responded, how do I get his attention?
A: Email Unfortunately there's a lot of content on these forums, much more than one man can often handle on his own.  It's best to address any concerns you have with Meiun over email.

Q: I have a complaint about another user, how do I handle the situation
A: If the issue cannot be resolved peacefully among the people, you have a couple of options.  If it is primarily an issue on the forums, there's a link at the bottom of their post where you can report the issue to a Moderator.  This will reach all moderators and admins, and they will resolve the issue.  If the issue is in game, and there are no GMs in the game, you can PM the moderators on the forum.  If the Moderators do not address the issue, then and only then (after you've attempted to contact a moderator) should you attempt to contact Meiun.  He has enough work on his plate, and should not be responsible for handling disputes.  If you do have to contact him, email him at   Under no circumstance are you to create a topic on the forums to voice your complaint.  Doing so will be scolded by the moderators as well as Meiun.  Keep it in private, you don't want to air out yours or someone else's dirty laundry.

Q: What's the difference between a GM and a forum moderator or admin
A: Each role has a different part to play, where as some of these selected staff members dual-hat their responsibilities.  For instance, some Game Moderators (abbreviated GM's) are also forum moderators.  Some GM's are strictly in-game moderators.  Some GM's aren't even moderators in either the game or the forum, but are valued contributors to the game(s) as graphic artists or other responsibilities.  For a list of the GM's, view this topic: http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=714.0

Q: I'd like to contribute to the game or community, what can I do to help?
A: There are a multitude of things members can do to help out with the game or community that don't involve money or a lot of personal investment.  The biggest thing anyone can help with is to be constructive.  There is a forum dedicated to ideas and suggestions for the game (see http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?board=9.0).  If you think you have a great idea for the upcoming game, please ensure you search the forums using keywords from your idea to see if the idea has already been suggested.  If it hasn't, please construct your ideas into a clear concise idea, and post it.  The more detailed you are, elaborating upon your thoughts, and are capable of accepting constructive criticism from others, the better the chance you will have at getting Meiun to recognize your idea(s) and implementing it.  You may initially be turned off by the tone taken in the forum, and the reason is more obvious than many may conclude.  The amount of effort put into the ideas is often minimal at best.  They are often vague in description, or flawed enough to make one wonder if what was posted was the first thing that came to someone's mind, and never went further than that.  Challenge yourself to become the next think-tank to get recognition from the GM's and Meiun.  If you are also capable of developing your thoughts into something more than text (e.g. graphics, music, etc...), treat your first post in that area as your last and make the best impression you can.  Take pride in your work, and it's likely that others will too!

No no no, you've stickied it, now it'll never be read!

The trick is to name it "Stick Online Version 3" and write a program to automatically bump it once per week.

That'l get some views...

This is addressed in the FAQ. There has already been a topic discussing today's downtime (http://www.stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=2376.0), please wait for a response from Meiun.

*edit*
Seems to be back up.
