Hey guys, its Ceroblitz.

Since there is a bit planned for a sneak peak, I thought that guessing the weapon from a small bit of info would be pretty cool. I plan to release a small bit of information if a weapon is guessed correctly and a few frames of it's animation. Anyways have fun and guess away! I probably will reveal only 2 for now, from this set of five.. and not everything is final!

In order to place a guess, just say the weapon number and the guess of the name. (EX. Weapon 6: Walking Stick) I will list the closest guess under each weapon.

Awesome, glad you decided to go through with the idea. Are the images below the numbers a sprite of the image in a blacked-out style, the type (mace, sword, staff, etc), are they just random things? I see the title of the images are just 'GUESSIT1' to 6.

I'll guess them in order I guess. Don't laugh at me if they are terrible, lol.

(I'll edit this once I know if those images have anything to do with my guesses, I don't want them to be a hint within a hint and end up looking stupid if it's not even the right class of weapon). :P

Edit: Alright, awesome. When I read the title it made me think of 'Who's That Pokemon!?!?'. xD

1: Dark/Demon Axe. I can't tell if the sprite is a gun or something.. But I liked the wording of axe, lol. It doesn't look like an axe too much, but whatever.

2: Sprite looks like some sort of ray gun.. But even then I can't think of SIC for it... Lol. Can't think of anything.

3: Warlord Battle-Axe. Doubtful, but I like the word axe since there wasn't one in version 3.

4: Fire axe.. I can't think of any other weapon than an axe to fit into the game..

5: Looks like how I'd imagine a deranged bunny if it were in version 2... Demon Blade

I'm terrible at guessing names for things, lol.

The tiny pics are related, so yeah. I didn't want to make it impossible to guess, so there will be some sort of reference

Weapon 1: Demon Axe
Weapon 2: Slightly Irresponsible Children
Weapon 3: Wooden Blowgun
Weapon 4: Fury AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Weapon 5: DEATH BAZOOOKA

I honestly have no idea.

for weapon 1 i'm not too sure, and can't come up with something better than destroying axe  :(

..and then weapon 2 looks to me like the head of an eagle, if I zoom in, but I cannot come up with a meaningful abbreviation either, so I will just throw in some random words:

my best guess would be wooden bang

weapon 4 is definitly the mentioned fire axe, i'd say.

if i zoom into weapon 5, it looks to me like a  dark/demon bunny :o

Pretty good, looks like two of the weapons have already been correctly guessed..

Woot, managed to at least get one of the weapons with my rampant axe-esque guessing. Both look awesome, although I'm not sure about the middle side-ways moon curve on the Wooden Bat that makes it look like two separate pieces. Who am I to say though, I think it would look better without it though, as it reminds me of some kind of paddling tool that you'd hit people with if it were to remain (Maybe add some nails to it for extra awesomeness. Jk). :P

Number 5, Dual Blade?

Hell yeah I got one! Does this mean I get a free wooden bat?! :3

Weapon 1: (it's definitely <something> Axe, since it and the Fire Axe have the same icon) I will guess Dire Axe

Weapon 1 - I will guess Demonic Axe?
Weapon 2 - Maybe, Spiked Iron Cudgel? (or Spikey Iron Cudgel since you're being picky... or again, Spikey Iron Club since you said it was pretty close.)

I'll let you guys know that I will be revealing the dual blades later...

Anyways the last two weapons are a bit hard to guess, so I will give a bit of leeway for guessing the SIC although you guys got it pretty close, just missing the last... Good luck!

I thought as much from the lack of movement in the animation. But it's still cool to see if some of them combine together to make any form of movement. :)

Ceroblitz, this has been asked probably a million times but i forget But what animation program do you use?

I'm good at animating in flash but its gif exporting quality is terrible, do you know any other program that can export gifs in high quality but has a similar interface to flash?

Around 30-40 taking animations he posted like a year ago into account. Dunno :S

If I remember correctly So3 runs at a fps of 60? 30-40 would be about half a second long.
Since agi effects animation speed (doesn't have to do with frames specifically) , and most the weps will have longer/shorter attacks its kinda difficult to tell.

I don't know about Stick Online, but in the game I develop, the speed of the weapon frames is completely independent in the init_items script.
The 'number speed' multiplied by 60 is the FPS of your weapon.
E.G. Katana = 0.25, runs at 15FPS.

If you are referring to what fps V3 runs at, crozier was actually correct. V3 runs at 60 frames per second. V2 runs at 30.

V3 is way more efficient than V2 on pretty much every front. So if your worried about the performance in comparison to V2. So basing how well you think it will run off of how V2 works for you isn't really a valid measurement.

Game Maker Compiles in Delphi.
SciMark Delphi:

Delphi Compilation alone is only 58% of the speed of C#, giving a massive 71.4% efficiency in compilation alone,
plus we're assuming that the code is also more efficient, with native Windows Socket opening.

Game Maker does not even compile to start. Its placed with an interpreter and interpreted. So that's even slower. Older game makers was made in Delphi but it has been rewritten into C++. But your point stands still that C# is going to be way better in performance than anything GM.

C# is faster than delphi, and the fact that GM's delphi is used via an interpreter magnifies that issue drastically. It is also a well known fact that a lot of the foundation of GM's functions and other core components aren't that efficiently written within all of that either. Additionally, a lot of the code I wrote for it could have been done a lot better as well (it was pretty good for a high schooler with no truly legitimate programming experience at the time, but looking back there is a lot I would have done better). There were also a number of limitations I was bound by from using GM that I no longer need to worry about now that I'm writing everything myself.

The most notable performance increases so far are definitely with the server though. The V2 server application used way more CPU than would have been ideal. Though it isn't finished yet, so far the V3 one has been so light on resources that I could basically run it on a computer powered by hamsters in wheels :P Despite the fact that it is still doing a lot of the heavy lifting, and essentially has the entire game engine coded into it (minus all things graphical of course).

My hamster accepts that challenge.
