I don't quite understand this Permadeath thing.. :/

I believe either:

- you lose your character, your inventory, and the progress you have gained with leveling/stats/whatever

- same as above except you have to start a new world

Both of which do not sound nice, except I have a feeling that the latter will be implemented, which is really bad.

Yeah, that sounds really bad.

It would be okay if that were in like... a hardcore mode or something, but not just normal survival mode.

I'm a bit confused, because that link that Epicphail posted that supposedly mentions Permadeath... doesn't mention it anywhere in the article, besides "But the fact that you lose everything ? you lose all your inventory anyways". Which is what happens right now anyways. Am I missing something?

Maybe after you die you can't re spawn period until the server resets or something? If people wanted like a legitimate survival mode...

omg the dang blasted game just deleted my world and my saves. i have to start all over again. all the buildings i made, the tunnel i was making all gone arrrrggghhhh >:(

Yeah the perma death thing doesn't sound like it will enhance the game.

the perma death hasnt been put in yet. also come to find out it didnt delete it but it did send my char 1000+x1000+ blocks away from my original location for no reason. i thought it deleted it because nothing was the same. didnt even send me to my first spawn point. so ive spent the this time back tracking.

ps make a note of your current location x, and z coordinates thats how i save my stuff ingame

You could also load up a Xan's Minimap Mod. Might be a bit cheating though.

Notch has talked about the 'permadeath' thing before, and he essentially said it was a hardcore mode.  If you died, it deleted the world.  No idea if anything else has been stated beyond that, or for SMP.

If that's honestly permadeaths functionality, I have to say that is a VERY dumb idea. Nobody could have thought of a better way to make a hardcore mode without deleting saves? I can think of thousands.

I love your tiles. When V3 is all said and done you need to make a texture pack to match stick online's tiles.
