4^2+4^2+4+4 is not Using four 4's. Its using 4 4s and a 2. Its what makes it harder.

The ^2 simply means to the power of two. So in this case; 4 * 4 + 4 * 4 + 4 + 4 (so in fact I'm using 6 4's).

I was tryping to do this while not using he number 44. Here is another one I could of done for 1)

tan(4/4+44)
= tan(45)
= 1.

:)
But 4/4 is in that equation. There's no point.

You fail to see the point of this challenge. The challenge is to use 4 in any form to create an answer between 1 to 100.

So in the example I gave I used 4 4's to get an answer that was equal to one.

You don't need to use 4 4s, you need to have equations that only contain the number 4.

Heres me trying to do the rest *fishes out old maths book*

23)(4!-sqrt4)+(4/4)
25)(sqrt4+sqrt4)!+(4/4)
27)(4!+sqrt4)+(4/4)
29)(4!+4)+(4/4)
33)didn't get this one
34)(4x4)x sqrt4)+sqrt4
35)didn't get this one
37)didn't get this one either
38)(44-4)-sqrt4
39)no gettie
41)nadda
42)44-(4-sqrt4)
43)44-(4/4)
45)44+(4/4)
46)44+(4-sqrt4)
47)(4!+4!)/4
48)(4!+4!)-(4-4)
49)(4!+4!)+(4/4)
50 44+(4+sqrt4)

4!=24(1x2x3x4) in case your wondering
For some reason my book only goes up to 50...  ::)
