I don't think it matters if you have bbe on or not after you've already been hammered. Your horizontal speed remains constant after you get hammered until you hit the ground.

Actually it does. I did one without, and landed before Cabin, and with, I land right in the middle in cabin. So It affects the launching distance... Especially with Trodgor.
