Your truly not a real elder scrolls fan if a long sexy narration from the wisest man of all time isn't enough to give you a super boner... #Hyped!

I've been a fan of The Elder Scrolls for as long as I've been gaming, but to be completely honest I don't know what to think about this. I truly wished they would just incorporate Co-Op into their games, something they could have done rather than spend the time making terrible AI companions in Skyrim. I hope they don't approach this like most other MMOs, but I won't jump to any conclusions yet. I'm also a bit ticked that Bethesda would steal the rights to Fallout Online from Interplay, then get to work on a Elder Scrolls Online game at the same time.

Not to say I'm not looking forward to it, I'm just not too happy with Bethesda right now.

Edit*
My opinions are pretty summed up here.

I really have not played a Elder Scrolls game but I have played fallout. And the parts I like about it I don't think could work online well with lots of people. But with a small group (1 - 6) or just co-op I think the game could work out. Having npc helpers are nice but real ones would be cool. But i'm speaking from the side of fallout. So i'm not really interested.

Bring on the disappointment as it's released as another WoW clone and flops!

I'll just be weeping over in the corner here, if anyone needs me...

I thought it sounded like Michael Gambon :P

I can see this game either being a hug hit or a total flop, but as long as Bethesda have a big part to play in the creative aspects of the game I have strong hope.

While my information comes from Kotaku, they say the first information and impressions that Game Informer got exclusively, makes it sound like another typical fantasy MMO - even the screenshots looked standard. Hotbar timed skills and the whole she-bang.

I'm with Lucifer - I'd rather they had just added co-op or something. I mean, if they could take everything about Skyrim, and throw in a MMO on top of it (numerous people populating the world, but still function similar to TESV games do), then I'd be all for a MMO! However, by the sounds of it, they aren't... just taking the lore and applying it to the cut-out WoW build, with maybe a few interesting mechanics like the return of public dungeons.

To me, a Skyrim MMO would be similar in design to what Ultima Online used to be. If only, if only...

Still, maybe I'm misinformed or it'll turn out drastically different - or maybe it'll just be fun, regardless of being the same. Who knows, I'll do my best to reserve judgement... but still, co-op Skyrim first, plix. :x

I have no problem with the concept of an online TES game, but after seeing screenshots and hearing about the gameplay it pretty much sounds like they're intentionally doing everything the fans didn't want them to do. This game sounds horrendous (and looks it, too, I must add).

._. Surely you jest. I haven't looked at anything other than the trailer. In my mind this entire time I've been picturing Skyrim and Oblivion with thousands of people running all over the place

Edit: Another thing I pictured was how Guild Wars managed the environment. Every player/party had their own instance of the world outside of the town.

I'll shank a bitch if I find them in the house that I plan to break into during the middle of the night to peruse their belongings for loot.  That or I'll wake the owner while I bolt for the door leaving them to explain the missing belongings.

In other words, it won't work with loads of people, all the houses would be pillaged, villages murdered, numerous duplicate NPCs chasing others, all in all, it can't work in an MMO style.  A few characters like you stated in a coop mode with a storyline that they all take part in at the same time would work, but not when they have to account for many players all at once.

All in all, I'm preparing to see this flop, badly.  At least in the sense of it not being an Elder Scrolls game at all.  I'll still hold on to what little hope I have for this to not be a total failure, and remain somewhat open-minded until they prove me otherwise.  Did anyone mention an expected release date?

Gotta say I like this style of graphics more than Skyrim's hyper-realistic one.

I don?t think that elder scrolls should be online. They should take the arrow out from the game that tells you exactly where to go in quests and make a similar game like morrowind ( of course a new region like Elsweyr or something)  with better graphics and new guilds and quests.
