just found this mmorpg the other day. the unique thing about this mmorpg is that it doesnt have classes, instead you have skills and spells that you purchase and thus you can be a hammer user but cast fire balls. the only thing that is lacking about this game is the population there are very few people playing so there isnt much grouping. whats more is it has pretty dang good graphics and runs like a dream. if you want to try it here is a link to the main site.

I heard there was some sort of situation with a hacker group called FairX blackmailing PlayOMG as an ingame guild called Fairlighters. Is this still going?

venuse

Downloading and installing. I'm willing to see what it is. Name is TRok.

edit: Nice 15 min download using the p2p. lol
edit2: Dang its laggy on my laptop. v.v

venuse

ive never experienced lag with the game, or do you mean you get low fps?

T-Rok

I guess low fps would be what it is. But thats still considered lag by a majority of society. Its terrible when just entering new areas. I've decided to go 2 dex/1 agi for my build. xD

venuse

weird. my own fps is between 60 and 120. although it does go down to 40 at one of the main castles. thats at max settings, with 2x aa, and 16xaf.  maybe the server is having some probs i dont know. cant be as bad as champions online, it was virtually unplayable do to low fps and lag for me. it would drop down to like 20 with all settings turned to the lowest. might try using fraps to see what your fps is and adjust the settings in options to improve where needed.
heres my specs
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+
4096MB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4770

T-Rok

I have every single setting turned as low as it can go. xD
My specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Pentium Processor T4400 2.2GHz
3GB ram
My graphics card is inbuilt - Intel GMA 4500M

venuse

well its no wonder you get low fps in the game when you are playing on a comp with that processor and a built in graphics card.

QuoteDue to the slow clock rate and the small level 2 cache, the Pentium T4400 will limit the performance of demanding 3D games (e.g. Supreme Commander). For entry level applications like office, SD video cutting, image processing, Internet and casual gaming, the T4400 should be sufficient.

QuoteCompared to other modern integrated chipsets like the GeForce 9400M or the Radeon HD 3200, the 4500M is clearly the slowest especially for 3D games.

Your system graphics suck. Everything else could run the game ok but the graphics. Even a low end Pentium is good for games like these.

If you have a desktop PC even a $50-100 video card will help a LOT. If your on a laptop your out of luck.

venuse

might try looking up external gpus. although my searches have shown that most are discontinued. other then that i think you are stuck with what you got.

I'm on a laptop. xD But I have a 2 year extended warranty and my speakers are already peacing. So I'll just return it in a year or so and get myself something better. :P

Make sure you get a laptop with a good integrated graphics made by Nvidia or amd/ati. Goto a site like http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ and compare the graphics of the new system. Also keep in mind that more power means more heat. Always keep the bottom of you laptop ventilated. Laptops tend to slow down a lot when over heated.

T-Rok

Lol, I didn't buy this laptop. It was a graduation present. :P Its the Gateway NV54 and I find it quite nice. Doesn't get hot at all. xD But yeah.. When/if I return it, I will probably be getting a desktop instead.

ARTgames

Ok, just make sure the desktop has a ok card. Most of the ones from the big box stores sell pc with crappy cards.
