It does.  They've revamped the second player functionality a bit so that you aren't just sitting there pegging monsters with stars and collecting them, which would get sort of boring to be honest.  Here's IGN's video review:

I was able to receive it yesterday. From what I've seen in the game-play, it's really fun. I'm planning to invite some friends over today to try it out. :)
