AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH. You know- I don't care how great this game is. I don't care if it can cure all the worlds problems when I press the start button- I don't care if ill become the best at any game ever just by shooting my first bullet in this game. The wait, has been HORRIFIC. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we've had to wait for so long, that even if the game is good, it won't make up for the years we had to wait for it. The game had been talked about and planned longer than !@#$ing Half Life 2 Episode 3, and that is a pretty damn huge accomplishment. If I remember correctly, development for the game started in 1997. And here we are in 2010. So unless my math is ass, that's 13 or 14 years!
Yeah- to those who don't know Duke Nukem Forever lives yet again, expected to be released in 2011. Anyone who went to PAX got to play a demo of the game, so Duke is up and running again. Gearbox, the dudes who made Borderlands are the guys working on it. But..Even if it does come out, will it have really been worth it? Personally, I think that they should have just let Duke rest. I mean come on- 13 years or so for one sequel is not going to get my pants wet. I mean I know it's DUKE, but even so it's just ridiculous.
Tell yah what Gearbox- you make me 5 more Duke Nukem games in the next two years, and we'll sweep this little oopsy under the rug, deal? But yeah, is anyone excited about the game?
The company that was making it for 12 of those 13 years tanked last year. Don't blame Gearbox for the long development time when they haven't been developing it for a long time at all. My point being, if they named it Duke Nukem 4, would anyone have any reason to bitch about it? As far as I'm concerned, it's a completely different game, made by a completely different company, of a particular franchise you either do or do not care about at this point. Would anyone be complaining if it hadn't been announced in 1997, but instead 2009?

Nah nah- I'm aware the game switched engines, there was some legal shit involved, developer swaps, ect ect. I'm not blaming Gearbox in general, I could have worded that last part a little better.
You have actually been waiting this entire time?!? You're saying you come home every day and check Google to see if any announcements have been made for Duke Nukem Forever? I find that ridiculous. No one has actually been waiting for this game. Maybe for a year or so after it was announced. But then everyone mostly forgot about it. Then someone would bring it up again, and we'd all laugh, and a week later forget about it. And like Chaos said, this isn't really the game that was announced back then. It's a completely different game at this point.
In any case, this isn't really a franchise I see going anywhere. The Duke Nukem image was something people were into back in the '90s. Not so much anymore. Unless they really change who the main character is, give him some dimension, it's not going to really make any waves.

Man- I gave up hope for the game years ago. Any game that can beat the 7 year delay that TF2 had isn't really worth waiting for. But I'm stunned that they're actually trying to bring it up again. Now- it looks like it is coming out this time, but I'm still holding doubt like always.
I just took a look of game play video. Looks fun. I may get it.
The PAX gameplay one? Looks pretty interesting.
For those that haven't seen it yet, trailer:

I get early access to the game cause I bought the GOTY Borderlands ^_^
Looks interesting. Still looks like something fun.
