I'm finally getting married!
As many probably know I've been engaged for over 2 years now. Just recently my fiance and I went up to the area that we camp every year with her family (June Lake near Mammoth) on a scouting mission. We basically decided the pressure was too much and wanted to just go away and get married. After much thought, we decided to include our immediate family. So we're heading up and getting married, in the snow, on January 1st!
And btw, yes, we are crazy.
Anyways, just wanted to let people know as I have received many well wishes from various people on the forums when I announced our engagement.
Massive congratulations man! I hope everything goes flawlessly for you :D
Gratz!
I got married in the woods(Flagstaff Arboretum) too! It was lots of fun and drove my vendors nuts with the conditions they had to make work lol.
Thanks guys.
Well, luckily we're just doing a very small ceremony and having dinner at the resort we are staying at. So we're just driving our family nuts.
The crazy thing is everyone is talking about how Mammoth has the most almost of snow of anywhere in the world right now. There's like 10+ feet. And we want to do it outside! But, the good thing is that we have contingency plans. We're going up a couple days early to scout out the outdoor locations we like. And if all else fails, we booked the use of the lobby which has kind of a lodge feel with a nice big fireplace and everything. If we end up using it, they'll move out all the furniture and put in some chairs for us. So we're pretty much set. We're still kind of going crazy though...
I was looking for the Like button that you would find on Facebook.
Congratulations dude! Have a good one.

PROTIP: Don't tell all her family and friends at the wedding that you're going to give her your Christmas gift on the Honeymoon. Seriously, bad idea.

Hey thanks Scott. We both had a great time when we went down to visit.
And thanks again to everyone!
I am now a married man! Everything turned out great. It was snowing like mad the morning of the wedding and hasn't really stopped. We actually got married ON the lake, about a few feet out. It was just awesome. The sun crept out right during the ceremony which was really special.
Sounds oh so quite magical. Haha. I do so look forward to my own.

Thanks. Although, not such a big leap. We've basically been "married" for a while. We've lived together for over 5 years.
