Where men are obligated to empty their bank accounts to feed Hallmark's and jewelry store's capitalizing wallets. But at least we can look forward to this every year:

Seriously Valentine's Day, rot in Hell. I gift my significant others when I want because I want to, not because I am obligated by a calendar date.
Or you can look at it as a day to spend with eachother doing things you both enjoy. I don't particularly spend a ton of money, and she doesn't expect it either. As long as we're together and we appreciate eachothers company, do something special, that kind of thing, then we're both happy.
Yeah, rather the Media's Portrayal of Valentine's Day can rot in hell. Or I guess Capitalists version, whichever one fits better! (At least for Amurica!)
Yeah... and Happy Birthday to that chaos person....

I have class until 5pm on Valentines Day and class the next morning, meaning, I doubt Ill get to see my boyfriend :<
I like the general idea of Valentines Day, a day to celebrate love. But I'm not all for buying my boyfriend something for VDay... -.- Having a nice dinner together, that'd be enough for me.

Learn to cook. Great way to save money, for some reason girls like guys who can cook.
Also, hi!
hey man, valentine's day is capitalism at its finest. businesses want profit, men want some ass, and women want to show off jewelry to their friends. there's not really anything you can do about it until you fix the underlying problems...

Problems? It's all a matter of perspective. I really don't see a problem with any of those 3 things you listed.
Btw, was home sick on valentines. :( we're gonna retry this weekend.
