I suggest a shoutbox for the SO boards. The hangout is only really being used now for the shoutbox and it's a pain to visit both when it could just be moved here. It's also a convenience for when an SG spawns and players that are visiting the forums can be alerted.
http://www.simplemachines.org/about/features.php doesn't list Shoutbox as a feature. Perhaps it's that there ISN'T one to add in the first place?
I would like a chat that is not part of the main game. we had one on one of the many stick online websites.
Actually I could add one without much trouble at all. My biggest concern is making sure it would be a highly secure one, as stuff like that often is not.
On the old SO forums didn't someone hack the site through the shoutbox? It will definitely need to be secure.
