As the local brony (a male who likes MLP:FiM) I find it most appropriate that I bring this topic up. This was supposed to be a kids TV show made for young girls but has taken off on the internet under all age groups and genders. It's not cheesy and has likeable characters with nice musicals. It also has a big fandom (bigger than the target market) made mainly up of males from young teens to mid thirties.
Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_MagicMy Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated television series that began airing on the United States cable channel, The Hub, in the last quarter of 2010. This incarnation of the Hasbro toy was developed for television by Lauren Faust, who had previously worked on the Cartoon Network series The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends with their creator, her husband Craig McCracken. The show is produced by Studio B Productions, in association with Hasbro Studios.[3] The show follows a studious unicorn pony named Twilight Sparkle as she is tasked by her mentor Princess Celestia to learn about friendship in the nearby town of Ponyville. Twilight becomes close friends with five other ponies?Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie?each representing a different facet of friendship, sharing adventures and helping out other residents of Ponyville.

I want to say this is a troll...but I am honestly not sure. It says 20+ males are most common viewers in video statistics but you realize that doesn't mean that they are "fans". They are probably people who just stumbled over the video for whichever reason. Though I don't know if that where your getting your stats from...
That purple haired yellow one is entirely do-able, but the one with the light blue complexion and purple hair does that thing with her eyes. Yeppers, I got new lonely night material!

This isn't a troll. For whatever reason, My Little Pony has become popular on the internet. Do a bit of perusing with searches and you'll see. (I didn't search for that content, but rather, I found it on other sites and it got me to wonder why it became widespread.) He even provided several links to back up his statement, how you thought it was one is beyond me.

the flutterguy episode almost beat out the finale of House S7 in terms of awesomeness
While I don't doubt the show's charm or quality, I'm willing to bet a good majority of people claiming to be fans or "bronies" are doing it just for the sake of bandwagoning, so they can look all cool on the internet by derailing threads everywhere with pictures of ponies. "Look guys, ponies are usually considered cute and for girls, but we made them mainstream and all hip, yo."
But I could just be biased because I'm upset at seeing it every-freaking-where I go on the internet.

That one is good, as many others. Like party of one and Dragonshy.

This.
I actually watched the first couple of episodes, and it just didn't quite float my boat. The idea of the internet embracing all these ponies for me is infinitely more amusing than the show itself. I thought the animation was good, I thought it was all well done. But... it's still just a bunch of ponies.
It's also important to note here I still love cartoons. Adventure Time on Cartoon Network is one of my favorite shows. I just can't for the life of me get into these ponies.

It's a meme, once all the "bronies" are ignored and their annoyances fall on deaf ears, it'll disappear. According to this one, I give it 3 months.
Well its a cult following like anything else in the field of media. And I'm sure there are people in it for all different kinds of reasons and that it will die down like anything else. I wanted to see if anyone was into it or that I could get some one else into it. Though your replays have been nice to see.

I appreciate you LeGuy for giving it a chance. And i'm fine if its not something you like. For me personally fan made content is how I got into the show and why I'm still with it. The show is ok its self. I like its characters, art, and animations but the community behind it is great. Just like Stick Online for me. Good game and great people!
Dude, I watched My Little Ponies before they were cool. :P
Stop trying to jump on my childhood girly bandwagon!!!
But really, if my bf told me he watches this, I'd ridicule him.
Lol, DarkTrinity. You are an original fan. :)
If it helps any the internet is not targeting the older generations of MLP. Mainly just the "friendship is magic." I hope your bandwagon is not in too much disrepair.
I watched the first episode, thought "meh" and left it at that.
A day later, "I wanna see the next episode! Stupid 2 part pilot >_<"
Hahaha, -hooked-
This is a nice article more into the insight into the history of this.

It's up there with Adventure Time on the list of shows that aren't the same predictable bullshit over and over again.
Like
Johnny Test.

Anything that can be done, /b/ will do.
Also, I just found the most disturbing ( and by "most disturbing" I mean "coolest" ) images of MLP in guro-chan. My mind will be scarred for life ( and by "scarred" I mean "awesome'd" ).

AHEM!They are called
Cutie Marks, to be infact. And they get them when they find their soul purpose in life! Lern2Pony, noob. (Just kidding.)
On a more serious note, I found the series to be quite enjoyable. Animation was great, and I can't help but laugh that I liked it.
But...
