Title: Mario Kart 7 Multiplayer
Post by: Meiun on December 27, 2011, 02:56:24 AM
Hi all. So for those of you out there who might happen to have picked up a copy of Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS over the holidays, I have made a few Stick Online community groups that we can all use to gather for multiplayer games if any of you are interested in. I've already played a few rounds with some others from the community and it is loads of fun. Below are the communities and their corresponding codes.

Stick Online (150cc Races, All Items):
05-9700-0564-8622

Stick Online Bat (Balloon Battle, All items):
19-6365-9158-4574

...I was contemplating buying a 3DS today due to the sheer epicosity of the sales. I think this just guaranteed me buying it.

Have any of you actually managed to unlock everything and triple-star each cup? The AI in this game cheats like no other Mario Kart I've seen.

They gang up on you, go out of their way to knock you off the road, recover impossibly fast, use shortcuts that require a mushroom sometimes when they don't HAVE a mushroom, rubber band worse than 64, and have top speeds higher than their actual kart. And the item abuse is somehow worse than in Mario Kart Wii.

I keep getting 2 stars on the Star Cup on 150 CC even when using the Maka Wuhu exploit. The 50 CC level was insanely easy, but 150 CC is too much fake difficulty.

EDIT: That was the only Cup that gave me trouble. Took about 15 tries. Every other 150 Cup was easy. Mirror Mode's not quite as hard, not sure why that one Cup was such a problem..

EDIT #2: As of this edit, triple-starred all cups. Woot. My name in the community is Occurrence.

I think posting in this topic to notify people that rounds are currently being played in the community would be a smart idea. I haven't seen a single person in the community yet.

I don't know how it works yet, as I haven't had time to play. But if people need to be on at the same time, I'll be on later today around 1pm -8gmt. I wanna do balloon battles. >:)

Looked for you several times around that time, couldn't find anyone. I really think we need to set up a group meeting date for this to work.

How about 1 PM GMT -8 tomorrow as a meeting date? Everyone here okay with that?

EDIT: Additionally, would everyone interested in joining in be willing to provide their Mii's name as a means of identification?

People need to be on at the same time in order to race and get points inside the community. Which is why I suggest people join at that time as a test.

For anyone who needs a time converter and is also lazy as !@#$: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc

EDIT: Already said what my Mii's name was, it's Occurrence. Looks nothing like me at all and wears white.

EDIT #2: Also, anyone who picks Maha Wuhu in the room is going on my personal hit list.

yeah, wish people were on now, bored in this house

Edit: I found out that 1pm GMT won't work for me since that's 5am PST. Is there away to change that?

Your name doesn't help. But a friend code does.

Friend Code: 0774 - 4825 - 9727

EDIT: D'oh.

It's GMT -8, not GMT. It's like 6:00 PM or so for you.

Eh, it was more for recognizing who's who in the room than anything else, but good point.

My friend code is 0173 - 1809 - 7736.

EDIT #2: So keeping the time at 1 PM GMT -8 is cool then?

why need a friend's code to ID who I am?

and the only time I could see working out is 1pm PST (9pm GMT) but if that doesn't work out, then you can keep the regular time you suggested

I believe T-Rok wanted a method of finding out whether we were all really online or not. That or extra ID.

Also, 1 PM PST = 1 PM GMT-8. :P

Merely wanted a way to see if you were all online. :3 And when Monster Hunter 3D comes out, a way for us all to gather and play like bosses.

ah okay, I'll post my friends code when I get the chance :3

Edit: Friends code: 3222-6029-6871. The Mii character is named Professor, made him in a rush and won't let me change it to Luigi300 yeah and so on

Alright, it's the test time. No one is on yet, posting as another reminder.

Alright, I guess we can have a couple of 2-player rounds before T-Rok shows up. I notified Pwnage on MSN too, even though he's busy. Hopefully more people will come.

Alright, guys, we're moving to Stick Online Bat. Pwnage is fairly new to the game, so this will help him.

For the most part, it was a bit of a success.  :D Thanks for everyone who came out. Me, T-Rok, Pwnage and Luigi300 all participated in races, and me and Pwnage participated in battling.

We should try some other time considerably later too.

Has this game died yet? I think I waited too long. I bought this game 3 weeks ago and was training myself. I 3 starred all of 50cc and 100cc, there's about 3 cups to 3 star in 150cc and I have 2 cups with 1 star in Mirror. (Koopa needs to die, by the way) Is anyone still playing these communities?

I play online every so often, but haven't been in the communities too much. I think it'd probably make the most since for people to start friending each other with their systems unless we had way more people. That way you can see when the other person is online right from their 3DS's menu, and join each other even if they are already playing with some random people.
