Title: Disney World
Post by: Jmac on January 02, 2012, 12:39:34 AM
So I've been travelling 10 hours on my way to Disney World in Orlando, Florida with my cousins and several other semi-family members. We'll arrive tomorrow morning and be there until midnight/as late as possible and continue that every day until the end of this week. :-\ For those that have been, are there any rides definitely worth riding? We'll be visiting every part I believe, and I just want to know what's fun and what's not.

I'll try to update every day, thanks in advance, I hope I have a good time.

Have fun! I'm not too much of a theme park going kind of guy, been to Six Flags once, and I'm told I went to Disney Land here in California as a child, but I don't remember it. Some of those rides scare the poo outa me.. I'm too paranoid they'll break. Somehow I don't feel a constant fear of imminent doom is.. fun.

Have fun man! Disney world is a real blast, went there a couple years back near my birthday with my girlfriend and some other friends. Also went once when I was younger. I definitely recommend the Rock 'n Roller-coaster, that was one of my favorites. I also recommend Soarin in Epcot if you can manage to get in without a huge line, that one was really cool. There are really tons of great rides there, young or old your bound to have plenty of stuff to enjoy.

Oh my goodness... Yes, the rock and roll coaster was intense. I also liked space mountain, Tower of Terror, the Hulk coaster... There's plenty I don't remember though.. :/
I went there when I was in 3rd grade with my family in October(over my birthday), then again in 10th grade with my high school band. (got our picture taken in front of the castle at like 5am when no one was there, and got to be one of those little marching bands that plays around the park) I was also there on New Years eve, which was awesomeeee.
I dunno, there are tons of great rides and a lot of fun things to see. There's also a thing, not really a ride, where you sit and watch and basically watch them make explosions and wreck things as if you're watching a live movie. Probably at MGM studios or something.... MGM also has a roller coaster simulator where you make your own customized roller coaster and you can go ride it in the simulator. It was fun when I was in 3rd grade at least.. lol.
Man, so many fond memories of that place... lol.

I remember the Rock 'n Roll Coaster as well. I used to be 9 and the shuttle launch at the beginning was really intimidating. I think I was crying, trying to get my mom to let me out of the line. Then after the launch, the loops and the darkness made it really fun. It's my favorite coaster.
The stunt performance there was great too. Those professionals really know how to use cars and fire. I especially liked the backwards car drive into a fire hoop. I also think someone caught on fire when I watched.

I'm going next week, but I'll be at Universal Studios. Apparently there is a new Harry Potter section in the Islands of Adventure park.

I think this park is a little more fun then the Disney World. But they both are pretty fun. Check out the 3D spiderman, Hulk ride, Harry Potter 3D ride, and the Double dragons ride found in the Harry Potter section. (All islands of adventure)
And I am pretty sure the Hulk coaster that Trinity noted is located at Universal.
And yeah I would have to agree with the above. Make sure you see everything listed here :D

I also agree with going on the rock 'n roll coaster. There's also the test track which I found pretty fun. I went ~10 years ago though, so I don't remember a whole lot.

Yea, Hulk is at Universal... I just mash all the places together.. lol.
Oh we also went to a water park at Disney World when I was little, it had a big wave pool and a place where you could snorkel with fish. Idk what it was called but I remember it being fun... lol.

I just got back home from Disney, and I have to say it was pretty fun. I rode every major attraction and had a good time. Expedition Everest had to be my favorite out of them all, with Test Track and Rock n'Roller Coaster following behind. The rides weren't extremely thrilling, but they were fun enough to ride several times. All in all, I had a great time, although I'm glad to be able to sleep in my own bed again instead of on the floor!
