What are the advantages of teamspeak over ventrillo?

Teamspeak 3 has everything that ventrilo had, plus a LOT more.  Most-notably, the better sound quality.  It was developed to sort of integrate instant messenger, with group chat.  You can adjust individual volume, set avatars, chat, transfer files, etc.. etc..  Cactus and I were testing it earlier, and I've fallen in love!

Yes, I have cancelled the payments since I had it hosted through a company, and now this Teamspeak 3 server replaces it.

Teamspeak 3 was just recently (as in the last couple of days, maybe even Christmas) released, and has had a lot of much awaited anticipation from those who have kept up with it.  It's preferred by people on varying OS's, since the dev's have developed it to work on anything from Linux, to Mac, to Windows, and even FreeBSD (server only).  You can run a server on any common operating system, and the client on almost every common operating system.

The SDK for it is another huge plus.  People can develop their own plug-ins for it.  That was ventrilo's major complaint from the computer nerds, because the dev's over at ventrilo refused to make it cross-OS compatible, not wanting to release their precious source code.  Being that I am a huge Open Source advocate, Teamspeak has always been preferred (it's just that ventrilo had features that Teamspeak 2 didn't have, and the voice quality sucked) It is a HUGE improvement over the last!  I'm really looking forward to using it!

I used Teamspeak long before I ever knew ventrilo existed, and for some reason I've always liked it more.
Thanks for the upgrade!

XD @ the address.

I agree, but there were two things that vent had going for it, that Teamspeak 2 didn't.  Volume adjustment, and (the kicker) relatively poorer sound quality.  I always said that as long as it can incorporate both, it would far surpass Ventrilo.  Not only did it (easily and more user-friendly'y) include both volume control, and much better voice quality, it added SO much more.  I'm stickin' with it.  I'd feel like I'm cheating myself if I go back!

You rock Scott!

(Not that I'm on the computer enough, nor play online games enough to make use of this... but still)
