you kill the blobs and you get gold to buy some items, but the blobs also drop hats and a couple weps. once you get to a high enough level, you can go to the rock demons and get better items, and so on and so forth

Here is a link to a walkthrough. Made by The_Natural/Tekken 5 Master. www.tekken5master.co.nr/ It will most likely have everything your looking for, but it is a bit outdated. Another website to help you is www.Jesusland.co.cc

taking forever to walk there
Where are you walking from/to? If you're walking from the start flag, you don't have to. If you cross the bridge to where the blobs are, keep going, don't stop there to fight. There's another flag just past there. If you press control while standing near it you will spawn from that point instead of the further one. Now you don't have to walk as far every time you die.

Blobs are very easy to kill. Remember you have to kick if you have no weapon. They take a few kicks to kill (if I remember correctly). As you level up if you add points to Str you will do more damage and kill them quicker. The only weapon they drop is a tree branch which is a fairly common drop, but it might take a while depending on how fast you kill them and if you're having luck with drops.

Keep at it. The lower levels are kind of dull, but once you get to the point where you can run around and see the whole world it gets fun.

Grats.

Been a very long while since I was at that level... probably until around level 15? Then you should be able to go to the bandits, or try the rock demons. I may be wrong on the level. But basically when you start being able to kill the blobs very easily, and they don't give very much exp anymore, try moving on.

It's not a very complex game. Take a look at the Readme if you haven't already for the controls and some information, and the websites Looperpuck linked. Blobs are good for leveling for a while, I'd agree with Lingus that the time you might want to start venturing out a bit would be 15+, maybe 20+. Something nobody has touched on in your post so far, there is no trading, so get used to what you have now and appreciate any new items you acquire.

Something that might make your leveling experience easier will be planning out your stats. Getting a fair amount of Vit and Int early will make the entire experience smoother, then focusing on Strength will make boost your leveling speed.

Of course everyone will have their opinion, but I'm not sure I agree on the vit/int. Certainly it will decrease downtime a bit and reduce the chance of death, but more importantly is the speed at which you kill monsters. The faster you kill the faster you gain exp and the more chances you have at getting a drop. So yes, maybe get your vit up to 3 (at which point you gain an extra defense). But I think int is not as worth it unless you notice yourself draining your stamina bar very often. Punching and kicking shouldn't drain it all that quickly, but I may be wrong. And don't waste points on agi until you're higher since you will only need it later on to pass the thorn pits. So I say a few points to vit, some to int if necessary, but mainly on str for the first few levels or so. That should make the lower levels the easiest as possible.

It takes 4 agility and a feather hat to pass the pits. Alternativly, if you really do NOT want to get agility, which is understandable, you can get someone to hammer you across.

I agree with Lingus, don't worry about Int. More str=less hits to kill enemy=less Stam used. Get int later, but not early.

You will, for the most part find the starting area barren. It's a donor server and we don't get alot of "new" users. Some of us make new accounts, but they get past that area pretty quickly. Once you reach bandits/Desert you will see more players. The mountain is sometimes populated aswell.

In theory, sure. In practice, no. Getting Int early is completely necessary, and it's way more useful early on than later once you've acquired so much energy from your levels alone. This is because strength has absolutely no effect until it actually changes the amount of hits required to kill a monster. In between those "checkmarks" you'll reach, the mere 6 points (or 4+2 if you like) you devote to int will reduce your resting time by extreme amounts, allowing you to level a lot faster. But I wouldn't spend more than 7 (for +5 from wiz) until way lategame, or perhaps ever depending on your build.

(I'm talking about leveling alone here, by the way. Strength would obviously be more effective if you were leveling with someone else, so you could get the checkmarks. With the lack of players nowadays, generally you'll be leveling alone.)

I always recommend people getting at least 6 INT at some point relatively early to help with energy regen. But that is just a personal preference.

Uhhh, I'm just putting this out there, but wasn't hammering people across the pits banned a while back? Correct me if I'm wrong though, it's been a couple years since I've actually played this game.

Oh.
Well I just thought that the GM's didn't want anyone doing it. Eh, maybe it's just my imagination. :-X

I really can't see a reason for that, nor do I recall that ever happening.

That's a really good point. And really it's very hard to tell, without trial and error experimentation, at what str level will the number of hits to kill the monster you are currently killing go down. Especially if you get a weapon at some point. I guess it would make more sense to add 3 points to vit, 6 to int, and then pump str until the number of hits to kill a blob goes down by 1. At that point you'll be level 10+. I imagine getting the rest of the way to 15-20 so you can move on will go much quicker as you will have less downtime, and you will kill more monsters in a shorter period.

It would let people get to other areas with low agility  :P
