I must of been using failure sarcasm :(...
I fail to see how that was sarcasm (maybe because it's the internet).

There, now it looks like sarcasm, since that's totally the point of this topic...
Pretty funny that someone beat the record, the previous record breaker must be pretty disappointed.
Previous record breaker now has something to with his life again...

The old record keeper is probably well into senility, oblivious to his record from ~30 years ago. That or he is already boxed up and 10 feet under.
Somehow, I am lead to believe that not only was it skill, but it was also the fact that he had way too much time on his hands to sit there for almost two in a half days and play an outdated video game.
I'm curious if he was playing the computer version or the original arcade version and how the two differ. If the game plays differently wouldn't that kind of nullify this record? And what about controls. Joystick versus keyboard/mouse?
Edit: Nvm, just watched the video.
Watch the video posted Ling-Ling, he was sportin' the classic arcade.

When I was watching the video, it looked like he was playing the original arcade version. My thoughts on that, if he knew he was actually trying to beat the record, he probably would have used the same type of system as the original record holder did. And I doubt it would have made the news if he would have used a different system.
EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't see the last post and your edit. >.<
