Beat Hazard is a really awesome indie game. I just bought it through Steam today and I absolutely love it. I personally think it is one of the best indie games I have ever played, and I have played many. Basically, it is a mix of Audiosurf, Asteroids, and extremely flashy (don't play if you have epilepsy) but beautiful graphics. You are a space ship and you have to shoot all of the enemies just like Asteroids. The catch is, the game is completely controlled and varied depending on the music being played. The game comes with about 10 funky songs, but in addition you can upload any of YOUR own music into the game just like Audiosurf. I have it for PC but I'm pretty sure you can get it on Xbox too. It is on sale right now for only $7.50 on steam. Here is a website is the website for the game: http://www.coldbeamgames.com Though it is cheaper on Steam than on the website so I recommend if you want it you buy it on Steam.

I felt the same way when I first got it. But to be honest, after I play for about 10 minutes or so my eyes become used to it and it's less bothersome. Also the easier difficulties make the effects less intense so there's ways around it...though personally I like doing hardcore mode while playing intense rave music. Such as: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR0WMdIqxus
OR even better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq9Q8jIPxZQ (skip to the middle of that...I find jumpstyle music is extremely fun to play to). But yeah, that shit makes for some nearly impossible game-play scenarios...good if you like a challenge. I don't even bother with insane mode though...that's just too ridiculous.
