Anyone else here seen it? My school recently did a production of Rent, and I quite enjoyed it!

Anyways, I've seen the movie version, fairly odd musical I must say... With lesbians, gay guys, a tranny/crossdresser(not sure which,lol), drugs, exotic dancer & AIDs... & I'm sure I'm missing stuff... It's just different..lol
But I have to say, it has some really catchy songs... lol
My school did a production of it. I never went to it but some kids said it was good. I'm not huge on the entire musical thing.

The...!@#$? So basically your telling me his school had a play with LESBIANS?!?! OMG I wanna seeeee.
It's not like they were doing anything innapropriate... That's the thing about it, some of the characters have AIDS, or are gay, but aside from one character, the plot doesn't revolve around that, they are just people who happen to have it. It does deal with AIDS, but that isn't the story.
Oh no, I don't want anyone to get me wrong, that's not really what the musical is ABOUT, that's just stuff that's in it, and I'm sure the movie is more "pg13" than the production his school did. But arguably, the musical does have a lot to do with aids, but also to do with a group of friends living in NY, can't pay their rent, having struggles, etc.
Nope, luckily my school got to do the real version! I downloaded the movie and watched it afterwards, ours even got some of the songs that got cut out of the movie.
