Hey ishboo21 here!

I know for a lot of players, it takes a very long time to run across the map to see whose on when ur all alone at the wall and it ends up being
3 people online that are at bandits. So i was woundering if a simple shout option could be implimented? It could have a 1 shout per every 1 or 2 min to limit spam, as it should only be used on occasion to figure out where people are at or if theres a special monster somewhere like a SG at the wall. Also i think the text should be differnt color on shout, like black so it shows a difference in regular text and mod text.

Tell me what you guys think!

I'm totally for an unrestricted global chat. I believe Meiun is against this concept, but I can't remember the specifics of why. I believe it would encourage socialization all the more so, eliminate the requirement of spanning the entire map just to see who's on, and spread news of boss monsters much more efficiently so more players get a share of the loot. The whole local chat only thing is rather aggravating at times when occasionally you'll miss someone's conversation simply because you didn't know you were out of range. I believe there should be a default local channel, which would be exactly like our current in that you would only see local chat and GM chat. Then, a global channel, functioning the same as any MMO's would. I'm sure Meiun has good reason to keep the current system though, I'd love to re-hear his thoughts.

Maybe you could use an certain item to use a shout-out across the map so people can talk to you, far away.
If so, it could have a cooldown, to prevent mindless spamming.

Bah, I don't think a global chat should have any restrictions to it. Spamming isn't a problem, just use the same exact system for local, it kicks you if you spam too much.
Couple things chat also needs. The ability to scroll through it and see previous comments, and for conversations to appear under themselves instead of getting cut off at a certain point. That's just plain annoying :<.

maybe you and how ever many people could have there own chat thing in game no matter where they are!?

Oh man, how much I agree on that statement.

I think an in-game player list would be nice also. Either in the form of signs which could be read to see the current online players, or a similar concept command. This way it'd be easy to PM or shout if you'd like a specific person to go to a certain area or more than one person.

Yeah i actually really love that idea, each area could have a "sign" in a conveinent location listing all the players online, and from there you can message any of them and it will pop up in another color in there chat, then that person can have a type of chat command to reply like /reply.

Thank you, ishboo21. I think this is a great idea, and don't know why it wasn't suggested. I think it would be cool if there was just an item called "Warcry Trumpet" or something, you pay maybe 5-10k for one, and use it to global shout. That is of course, if unrestricted global chat is denied. Personally, the only thing I hate about this game right now is having to run around the world to find people that are online. I know it's not a very hard task, but it get's annoying sometimes. Overall, I'm 150% for this idea.

I like the idea, but I would change how you use it.

You would either buy the item (or skill) for like 100k, and then it would still cost like 10k per use
Just to try and prevent people possibly spamming it all day long.

That defeats the purpose of it.

I think of it more as a useful tool than a stupid gimmick.

I don't want to see global chat messages from *insert your choice of players you know who would abuse it here* all day long.. That is why I don't think it should be 'free' to use.. There has to be some restriction..

I like that idea accept that players with loads of cash can still be annoying...

Could however have the sae idea to be bought with Real money?

Like a 5 dollar donation for this option. (still having moderate restrictions on usage because the "abusers" will do that anyways)
