No no, Art. This is nothing like that. This guy was thrown in jail because he started shooting at people. You can't just do that.

The example you stated is quite normal for most stores too though. They make it policy NOT to go after people stealing stuff because it costs more to put your employee in the hospital after being shot, or paying for their funeral, than it does to lose money for stolen merchandise. If the employee is going to put their life (and the companies dollars) at risk, they can't work there.

But shooting at people, for any reason, is just crazy.

I did not give my perspective on eather story. I have no idea how you drew conclusions that i said it was ok to shoot people or that the two stories were even realted in any way. I never said that or gave that impression. You made that up yourself. I was just saying that reminded me of this story and i thought that story was interesting and wanted to share mine.

I agree with you on both stories and did not think at any time that the conclusion was wrong on eather story.
