I'm almost tempted to drop money on it just because it is THAT awesome, what they are doing.  I don't even know if I'd play the games, but I definitely would like to encourage this kind of marketing scheme.

VolcomPunk

Not sure if I'm understanding this correctly. So, for donating any sum of money, you can get those five games for the amount you donated?

Scotty

Ya got it!  You name the price, and it goes to charity.

Oh, that's great. I love the concept.

EDIT: I actually think the Lugaru game is pretty interesting. Though I'm having trouble getting past the sentinel level.  :D

ARTgames

I think i might want to pay for the song alone. XD

Torch

I predict this idea failing. This game package is definitely not worth $80 and I don't see too many people paying more than $5 for it.

ARTgames

that's why they ask you to pay what ever you want.

NotSoCheerios

world of goo is the only thing worth buying in that package. Hopefully they raise money with this though.

Delicious

I read about this when it was first presented to the public. Great idea!

Well, World Of Goo had already done this before and raised a ton of money. Some pay well over the original amount, and especially since it is for a great cause. These are some of the best independent games, I would think that the package would cost a ton more than $80, actually.

Aquaria      20
World of Goo   20
Gish      8 (currently on sale)
Lugaru      20
Penumbra   10
Total      78

So... yes, it is.

I saw this marketing scheme a long time ago when the maker of World of Goo did this on his website. I personally think it's a genius idea.

Mr Pwnage

And bullshit on it not working. They have as of current already made $404,844 between 51107 donors. I bought it for $25.

Marketing scheme? They're trying to raise money for charity...

Oops. I was kindof thinking back to when they did the same thing except it wasn't for charity. Either way, it's still a good strategy to earn money, whether it be for profit, or charity.
