If we desire activity, we should create activity ourselves.

I joke, because it's about time we create some activity for ourselves. I encourage all of you to not only donate with us, but create your own clans, and this is why I've asked Meiun to open up the clan boards. Who cares if it's not officially recognized, once upon a time this was never necessary for clans to flourish, and there's no reason why it should be now. The player will then email Meiun at (http://www.stick-online.com/images/email.png), providing the activation key they were given, and the account details for either their old account, or a new account.
So please, tell your friends, spread the word, those who have been unable to donate in the past have their chance to play now. If you wish to donate as well, simply email Meiun after your donation confirming the purpose of the donation is for the donation pool, and private message me as well. If for whatever reason you wish your donation to be anonymous, please include that in your message.

Just for the record, I am indeed onboard with the whole activation key setup that Lucifer and the Stick Mafia clan have arranged. If you do end up receiving one of the donation pool keys, simply follow the instructions for activating/creating an account the same as you normally would (http://stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=2.0 (http://stick-online.com/boards/index.php?topic=2.0)), but instead of entering your donation information, simply copy in the key/code that Lucifer refers to in the first post.

No, this is not for anyone who already has a Stick Online account. There's really no way to entirely prevent this kind of thing, and for the most part I put my trust in the Stick Online community. I hope all of you requesting accounts understand the purpose of this donation pool, that we desire activity for the game we love and welcome you with open arms. I hope everyone can find it in themselves to not betray that hospitality.

That may sound logical but it isn't that simple. How am I to know if two people with the same IP aren't siblings? Do you suggest I restrict this to one account per IP address? That would only encourage bypassing the system via proxys or different computers. All that I can do is trust, unless you have some other suggestion.

That isn't the point though. Anyone can think of means to fool such an obviously fragile system, and the reason I don't enforce some crude policy is because I trust people know what this is for. Multiple accounts won't increase activity, and without activity you'll simply grow bored of your new account, and you'll have committed your selfish act for nothing. I hope I'm not only appealing to people's sense of decency, but logic as well.

Hey guys I used play back in 06, and kept playing until the only option became the donations server. This wasn't an option for me unfortunately since I'm broke. I've been checking up on here once every few months or so seeing if V3 came out but this public donation pool is almost just good. I played SO years back when it was free. My user ID was "cheetah" and my brother, "giraffe", also played. I also made fanart for the game using Blender 3D program of BBB and rock demon (unfortunately, I couldn't scavenge those anywhere :()
Anyhow, I would like to request an activation key. I don't think my brother will play, so probably just me would be swell. I appreciate this very much and look forward to seeing old pals in-game should I be given the opportunity!
P.S. - At first, I was somewhat hesitant on this, as it's more and more difficult for me to find time to play games lately.. I am in my 3rd Year in Uni. in a busy program. About your request, yes Meiun can re-activate your old account, but a new name is doubtful. Meiun has been known to give name changes, but you will have to discuss that with him.

As a member of the S.O Mafia, I can confidently tell you that these accounts are only for those that do not have an already activated account. The idea of this is, to increase the amount of
new players to the
donor server and not supply people extra accounts.

Its not up to lucifer. The reason it is $10 minimum is because that is Meiuns minimum. I don't think keeping track of $5 here and $5 there is a good idea.

I'm not entirely sure on the details, but Meiun has confirmed that it's alright. I don't believe krele ever donated for an account after the server turned donation only, but if you have evidence to the contrary feel free to present it.

Sorry bud, but no can do. Sharing accounts is technically against the rules, and although doing so will not receive any kind of punishment, it basically voids any support you may have received. You really have to be careful when spreading around your password, I personally have only given my password to those I truly trust and know to be honest, good people. I do apologize, but this service is Only for those who do not currently own accounts.
Please feel free to message Meiun about a password change, I'm not sure if this is something he is willing to do, but there's no harm in asking.

Despite the fact this may be occuring, there are still a fair amount of legitimate accounts.
People, if you have any proof of such things, say so. Otherwise, don't provoke unnecessary drama. I know there have been some cases of such activity, and I expected such a thing to happen. However, I had, and still have, hopes that most people realize that using this service in such an abusive way serves no purpose whatsoever, other than reducing the amount of potential activity on this game we love so dearly. Agreed :-\ One of the reasons I enjoy this game is its community. It's no fun with no one to talk to or to rub drops in their face :P. I'm so happy that we can get more people to play the game, it's truly fun to help lower level accounts out, and I hope we can get even more people into playing when v3 comes out. Just for the record (and despite the fact that who gets an account from this is not my job to manage), if I do catch anyone doing this, their will likely be consequences. From a web forum/database perspective, it isn't hard to figure out if someone has double posted in this topic under the same IP address, but with multiple accounts. All dynamic IP address issues aside, run this query on the MySQL database to figure out if someone has double posted with multiple accounts to get a listing of the user names for the accounts, IP address, and whether or not there is a duplicate:

I actually made a boo-boo, in smf v1 it's

`member_name` (that's v2). But regardless, there's actually a bit better and cleaner way to do it, since each post has an IP associated with it. Still a hit or miss with the dynamic IP address issues, but this will likely return better results (properly done for smf v1 this time):

yeah that brings me back to when i needed a new steam account after being banned from cs, so now i always use zeiser12, but rather zeiser if possible

If you would like to be on the list, just say so and Luci will place you on the waiting list. The next time someone donates $10 to this, you will be sent an activation key that you will then send to Meiun along with your account info (username and password[this can be an old account or new]) and he will respond to the email with the download link and activate your account. Don't rush him though, there's usually a 2-3 day wait due to the fact that he may be busy. And that, my friend, is how this works. :)
EDIT: There are $10 currently in the list, so you could get an account.
If ShadowChoke is really the real Shadow, he'd know his account is activated.

Either way, his IP can be checked and if it's the same as Shadow's (I think that's a seperate forum account) then they are one and the same and he won't get the key. And Jezza doesn't have an activated account on the donor server I believe, unless I'm mistaken.

It's the summer haha. In the U.S., everyone is out of school and going on vacation. In Europe, I believe many are still in school so that could prevent them from playing. That, and work :P. Luckily, I don't have to work this summer, so I try to be on every day.

Actually it's not a waste since it's a donation. It's not possible to waste a donation. Even if he doesn't play havok would have still given Meiun money for the server.

For the record, this does not work. My pre-donor account is still not activated.

Hm. This system was created such that players who didn't have access to the game could gain access - and currently everybody does, heh. I've added him to the waiting list, but I don't quite know how long he'll have to wait, he might be better off leveling a new account.
