And you still have yet to explain why that is bad. Its a freaking stick figure, they almost all look the same. You can change the thickness, stance, whatever else, but it still almost always ends up being the same. If, however, the SO version of the stick is the best bet for animating or looks, then why not use it?

I've been fairly silent to this point, as I don't really give a shit either way, but bullshit.  There are any number of ways to make a stick man that won't look the same.  And it's not just the style of the stick man, it's also the stance itself.

As I said before, I don't particularly care whether they rip-off SO or not, but hardly see why some people decide to delude themselves into thinking that they aren't.  Just keep my intellectual property, and RECOLOURS or otherwise slight MODIFICATIONS to my intellectual property OUT.  Do your own !@#$ing work.

Yes...
I can see the really small shading job on it.
Also that the first one can be made in about 20 seconds.
The 3rd one is the only one that is small enough to fit in a game.
Also if you guys use that modhat and gs colored. That would be just sad...

It is still just a stick figure, I don't care what you say. Your 3 stick figures don't even look that much different, they are just different sizes  and the 3rd one has a small amount of shading. So by your standards, what I did to this stick makes it okay because look its taller, has longer arms, and has a piece of gray shit on it. 

Just stop bitching about it, in the long run, this game is going to fail anyway, so who gives a shit.

If people put work into something, example: making a mmorpg like SO, and people steal the main character sprite then you should expect somebody to get angry and make a big deal out of it.



I personally see a big difference between chaos's and the one being used.
Chaos's head is 1 pixle smaller. The stance is completely different. It has hands and feet. Its not shaded like crap. *looks closely at petro's stick figure*
Small things like that would make a large difference.
Next time you post a sprite I should change a few pixles and call it my own. How bout I colorize your avatar?

And what, pray tell, does being a stick figure have to do with it?  What drops a stick figure to a lower level of status over any other sprite?  "It's just a stick figure, it's okay to steal it!"  How does that even begin to calculate in your brain?  Regardless of the effort required to make something, it doesn't make it okay to STEAL SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK.

Yes, my stick figures actually look QUITE different.  I don't think I'd have to worry about anyone confusing mine and and Stick Online's, now would I?  If the only difference you can see beyond the shading on the third one is "OMFG THEY ARE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS", then you'd have to be !@#$ing BLIND.  Different width, different height, different STANCE, feet, hands, shading.  Use your god damn eyes.

And yes, I would call yours different, too.  Not that hard to make something that wasn't a complete rip-off, was it?  So I have to question, what the !@#$ is wrong with the people who made this game?

If this game fails it won't be based on the look of the stick figure, it will be based on the gameplay tbh. Let's just see how far this game gets.

I agree.  A stupid sprite won't make a game fail.  However, if the level of effort shown by said sprite is any indication of the level of effort this whole game will receive, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Incidentally, I'd just like to reiterate, I don't give a shit about them using SO's stick man.  Whatever.  I'm just supporting Lingus's EXTREMELY VALID criticism on the stick man.
