There is plenty of tactics in football, just like in any other sport. And what is rugby, which is apparently your favorite sport, but just a bunch of people crashing into each other, throwing a ball, and running? You can say find ways to say there are no tactics in any sport, but when it comes down to it there are in every sport. I barely watch sports at all, but I am something of a strategy aficionado, and I can tell you that you'd have to be pants-on-head retarded to not be able to see that there is strategy present in the game of 'American Football'.

Regarding the "trophy" it is more or less the honor.  As far as rewards, well I'm sure there is some sort of monetary reward, through advertisements and future promotional deals and such, but I think the $50,000,000+ seasonal paycheck alone is good enough of a reward, superbowl or not.
