So Lunia is have a contest that is supposed to start tomorrow and end on October 4th. GlobalLunia(n. america lunia, basically) is giving players a chance to create a new character. We have to post a description and makes sketches & etc. They're looking for a character that will fit well with the others in game. (Funny, seeing as I don't think some of the current characters fit in, lol.)

Some characters people have mentioned on the forums that I thought would be interesting are: an illusionist, fire thrower, reaper, some sort of beast character.

Some ideas I thought might be interesting are a water or wood nymph, gypsy, cat/wolf girl, time bender.

Anyone have any ideas? thoughts? suggestions? Do any of the above ideas sound plausible for an mmorpg?

Google up a list of all the D&D character classes. Seriously, if that isn't the best resource for fleshed out character class concepts, I don't know what is. And there are hundreds in 3.5.

Well I looked at some online D&D character classes, but like, a lot of them are mixes. Like, rogue priest, mage cleric. stuff like that.
Was thinking of asking my bro to look at his D&D books though...

Me and a guildy were coming up with some good ideas for a time bender/dimensionalist... Like they freeze all monsters on screen for a few seconds. They freeze curses/poison/debuffs. (like in the currently most difficult stage u loose like 90hp every second so u pretty much NEED a healer) So I thought a time bender would be good for that. And then like, they can create a little black hole that sucks monsters towards it, like to lure them. Then for they're lvl85 attack(strongest skill in game) they could freeze monsters/traps for 10 seconds or something along those lines.

Then we were also talking about a gypsy who has a crystal ball for a weapon and uses some sort of magical attacks with it...

Another one could be someone who can manipulate shadows or something...

EpicPhailure

Do they have an engineer character that can use autoguns as his main form of attack, and skills include passive bonuses to the turret, and he could have a secondary grenade throwing thing.

You could also look at DotA, HoN, and LoL heroes for inspiration. Some of them aren't direct copies, surprisingly.

Priest? Mage? Those aren't even the names of classes in 3.5.. Maybe your looking at 4.0 garbage.

Anyway, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prestige_classes is a list of all the prestige classes and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alternate_Dungeons_%26_Dragons_classes#3rd_and_3.5_editions has a list of all the base classes. You may have to scroll down for the 2nd link, dependening where the link starts.

Unfortunatly these aren't in depth, but you can most likely good any of the names + D&D and find more info on them. I also have all the books, so if one grabs your interest, I can snag the full descriptions/art so you have a better idea.

I dunno, I was just throwing out random classes. It said it was D&D classes, but the list I was looking at had a bunch of combinations of classes. Idk what the actual names were.

@Epic: Yes, actually the newest character that came out a few months ago is an engineer... makes gun/canons/mines etc and can craft things like jewels & fortifications stones, etc. That character was actually made for a contest for KoreanLunia.

I saw a few entries for characters for the Klunia contest, they have a female warrior, a Berserker(half girl half tiger) and a barber(guy with huge scissors). lol. Weird, but creative.. xD

DarkTrinity

I know some of you have the attention spans of gnats, but if you could help me out, read this, tell me if anything doesn't sound good or I could make improvements on. It would be much appreciated! I am still working on the character design though.
I would also like to mention that We don't HAVE to name skills, we just kinda have to give an overview of what their skills would be like. But the GM said, the more details, the better.

Name: Eilian Jera (eye-lee-ann yair-uh)
Age: Unknown. Approximated in the early 20s.
Height: 5?7?
Profession: Chronoist (Time Bender)
Weapon: Chain Sickle/Hourglass (chain with a sickle on one end & an hourglass on the other)
Pros: Good for playing in parties. Close/medium ranged attacks.
Cons: Harder to solo with. Few long ranged attacks
Personality: Loud and opinionated. Blunt and not afraid to speak her mind, she sometimes comes off as rude, but she sticks up for and protects her friends. She likes to have things go her way and if they don?t, she loves to give the silent treatment.

Skills:
Physical (Attacks with the sickle end of chain)
~Slash: (level 1 attack) Slashes at enemies with the sickle.
~Spinning the chain/sickle around in a circle above her head to attack enemies in a certain range.
~Spinning the sickle in a circle in front of her to hit enemies in front of her.(3 hits)
~Throwing the scythe out in front of her to hit enemies in a medium distance from her.
~Grapple: Throws her sickle behind an enemy and pulls them towards her.(good for combos)

Magic of Time (Attacks with hourglass end of chain.-Spins the hourglass around for time magic.)
~Time blast: (low level attack) Creates a portal in front of her that shoots out low energy blasts.
~Black hole: Sucks(lures) enemies towards the black hole while doing minimal damage
~Time portal: Creates a small portal on the ground and if party members stand on it they gain back mp slowly.
~Time freeze: Freezes monsters on screen for a certain amount of time while Eilian is immobile.
~Wormhole: Teleports to another part of the screen. (similar to Yuki?s teleport, but looks more like Eilian is disintegrating then reappearing in a different spot on the screen.)
~Time barrier: Creates a wave that pushes enemies back.

Bless
~Freeze traps on screen for certain amount of time
~Freeze poison/curses for certain amount of time
~Reverse Time: party members gain back small amount of HP for a certain amount of time.
~Quicken: Party members increase speed for a certain amount of time.

Ability
~Increase MP recovery
~Increase HP
~Increase Physical attack
~Increase Magical attack
~Concentration

Lvl60 attack: Spins both the hourglass end and sickle end simultaneously to freeze monsters for a small amount of time and attacks the enemies with the spinning sickle.

Lvl85 attack:
Freezes all monsters, traps, curses/poison on screen for 10 seconds while Eilian is immobile and does minimal damage. (Better for parties and not solo.)

Without too much knowledge of the game it's hard to say, but it looks like a pretty well balanced class. I think the weapon concept is unique having the different ends of the chain act in different ways. Well done.

Well the chain sickle idea was given to me by Chaos, so thanks to him for that idea ;D
Hopefully it wouldn't be too hard to implement into the game...
