My brother and I both have hero characters on the Death & Glory server (it's a PvP one). Dunno about everyone else though.

I anxiously jumped the gun and think I picked a different one.  No worries though, just broke out of Brainiac's ship and did one mission.  I can easily switch over tomorrow.

I really want to try this, im just anoyed i cant be a apprentice of venom, im going on a holiday for 4 days starting tomorow when i get back ill probaly buy this game sounds awsome, do they sell it in gaming stores or can you only get it through steam? I dont mind either way but i would prefer to save a few GB's of download.

Yeh, wow boss fights are terrible these days theve made the game hard again and all i've been doing is carrying people who have no idea what to do, games just getting dull now.

All of my favorite villans/heroes are not from DC comics -_-'

I usally always roll a tank class in the games I play, I was wondering if the Defcon fares well at this role, this has to be the most appealing class of the heros, if not then the hexagon.

I really dislike the villan side, mainly because all the villans are gay (and venom isnt a DC villain).
and I agree with you not going with the crowd, during my time on wow I prefered playing on the least populated side on my server (being alliance) although it cost me alot of money to race change all my toons.

It looks nice, but high budget?

I really tried to understand why is this a "high-budget" game. Sure, the idea is awesome, and gameplay is good, but it doesn't utilize any technology that would make it a high-budget game. I checked the trailers and physics were fine but... With all those free physics libraries this isn't something new. It was well presented, but not good enough for my taste =P

High budget may not have been the right word for what I was trying to get at, but it definitely is non-the-less for a variety of reasons. They spent over 5 years on the game from what I hear, it has unique (and many known) voice actors for nearly every NPC, tons of different little stories with cutscenes etc. Well thought out, elaborate and unique missions, amount countless other cool features. You kids and your assuming that the only thing that makes a game good or cost a lot are graphics or physics, sheesh.
Anyways, I more meant it was a big name game, as oppose to some random half-assed korean F2P game that few people ever hear of. A game that you can actually pick up a copy of on a store shelf and what not.

Sounds cool, my main characters name is Meiun (surprise surprise). Shouldn't take you too long to get back to where you were, although that ship tutorial thing is a bit boring compared to the rest of the game in my opinion.

I know what you mean, Gameplay > graphics anyday but somtimes you need a balance between both but this game definatley achives my standards for a good game, I am really excited to start playing this game, hopefully the population dosent die off too fast like some of my previous experinces with mmo release's.

The way I see it, when you buy the game, you get 30 days to play for free.  Get all the play in that you want in that time, and then, if after 30 days, you see it bombing, just cancel.

I only played for about an hour last night before hitting the hay, and it seems interesting, but I don't have enough to really critique and review yet.  I won't like that parts of it seem like a re-hash of COH/COV.  That's not necessarily a bad thing though, considering that those were the only MMO's that truly grasped my attention.  I see this doing better than Champions Online any day, which was a flop at the 30 day mark at most.  I like being able to interact with all the in/famous characters of the DC comics, and there's enough cameo appearances from the smaller/less known superheroes that it should be able to grasp my attention for a while.

My biggest thing when it comes to long lasting computer games that I'll play, it's all about playing with friends.  Sure, I can crank out an indie game for an hour or two every now and again when I'm bored, but being able to sit down and return to a game months after buying it is dependent upon playing with friends, i.e. MMO's.  I think that is part of Minecraft's charm to me.  I have accumulated no more than an hour of single-player play time (had no idea what a painting was until Notch updated it with such in multiplayer), all the time I've spent has been online with others.  If friends continue to play DCUO, I'll continue to play it.

Looking at the fact that 90% of the budget goes to graphics and physics, that is the right thing to assume. Never said the game was bad, nor that it doesn't cost a lot (huh). I'm just saying, it's hard to believe they had spent more money than other companies did on some rare f2p mmo's that don't suck (sorry, can't name one on-the-fly). High-Budget and Good game are two different adjectives. Minecraft?

Like I said... High-budget was not the right word. I meant big-name game, one that you could (for instance) find on store shelves. High budget and good game do not always go hand in hand, and nor do good graphics/good game or any of that.

I was merely trying to get at the point that I am surprised it took this long for an actual (somewhat) action based MMO to arise that was made by a big company like Blizard or SOE or whatever. Regardless, I am not even sure why we are still discussing this.

A friend demoed it for like 5 minutes. The character creation and a couple minutes of play time. Looked really awesome. Unfortunately I'm in MMOA (MMO Anonymous) so I can't play these games anymore.
