Do I win?

EDIT: Granted it's hardstyle, but most people who like dubstep end up really enjoying hardstyle anyways.
Yeah, that is a pretty nice song too :) I like a lot of electronic music, but it appears the majority of you aren't really into it?

I hate Drum N' Bass b/c I find it very bland and boring. I enjoy dubstep, most hardstyle and techno, and some trance aswell. Not too much of a fan of major DJs like Tiesto and Dead Mau5, primarily because I also find the majority of their songs very boring and most of the basslines very hackneyed.

Really? :( I actually enjoy Deadmau5 quite a bit. I haven't listened much to Tiesto, but from what I have heard, he is pretty good.

listened to dream theaters cover of the Metallica song master of puppets and i agree they killed that song la brie's voice wasnt meant to sing songs like that however when he sings songs they write themselves his voices sounds much better, atleast to me.

now as for Michael Romeo well after listening to a few of the symphony x songs, electric messiah my fav of the bunch, im not a big fan of his style of singing. not because i dont think he can sing but simply im not a fan of guturral singing, although he sounds much much better then alot of other people. there is another aspect of his voice that ive noticed, like dio, he doesnt have a whole lot of variety to his voice. he basically has 2 modes, guturral and dio ish.

its funny you think la brie is a bad fit for dream theater and i think he is a good fit, too me his voice has a dream quality to it instead of a dark tortured quality like Michael. oh well to each their own alteast im becoming aware of different bands through this :)

First, I have to confess.  I screwed up, and feel a sense of humiliation in admitting this.  Michael Romeo is the guitarist (and a phenomenal one at that).  Russell Allen is the vocalist.  After all my bragging of the band to others, I've lost track of their names.  My apologies for the confusion.

That admitted and over with, such is the beauty of opinions.  I've listened to enough of Symphony X's music to understand the vocal talent of Russel.  I don't expect others who have a very slight taste of his work to understand or be able to pick out his vocal range, I merely consider it a challenge to help educate people.  For instance, the following title track off their second to latest album (and one of their most creative in my opinion) does a most excellent job of expressing his less guttural and more melodic vocals.  I present the song "Paradise Lost":

Another melodic song of theirs, longer than the last, and resembles more of Dream Theater's work (the band has attributed Dream Theater as one of their influences no less).  Plus there's the bonus of Romeo's dexterous guitar artistry in the latter half of the song:

Does it change the fact that his vocals are more guttural than LaBrie?  Not at all, but not surprisingly, I appreciate the difference.  It's solely a matter of opinion, and such is the beauty of music.  Everyone has their preference.  I cannot admit to dogging a band (especially DT of all the talented bands out there) because of a opinionated difference in what I prefer to listen to.  That is ignorance, and I like to show some semblance of open-mindedness every now and again.

ok after hearing those 2 wonderful songs i retracted what i said about him having limited variety hehe. i guess i let my ignorance get the better of me haha.

think i found a new band i like called van canto. they ditch guitars for people making vocal melodies, with a slightly metal opera sound.
weird song  based on runes of magic mmorpg hahaha
