Anyways, I listen to mostly rock, punk, punk/pop, etc. Although I listen to many different kinds of music and like certain songs from most genres.

Bolded favorites of mine, completely forgot about these bands... so many favorites :P

Pizzaz99

90's rock ftw. Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, RATM, STP, and Chili Peppers are among my favorites. Grunge all the way.
"Take me on a trip upon your magic swirling ship" -Bob Dylan
Wait, aren't quotes supposed to have a point or lesson? !@#$ it.

Scar Symmetry just released a music vid for (at least what is my opinion) their greatest song every written:

Other then Nirvana and Tool, some of my favorite bands would be (In no particular order)

A perfect Circle (Has the same lead singer as Tool)
Staind
Red Hot Chili Peppers
System of a Down
Alice in Chains (Old and new stuff)
Breaking Benjamin
Caramell
Hollywood Undead (Some good stuff)
Linkin Park
The Offspring
Seether
Skillet

I like a bunch of others but those are some of my faves.

Btw, I dont care much for Foo Fighters.  They are alright but dont compare to Nirvana in my book.  To poppy for my taste.  They do have some good songs though.

In my opinion most of Foo Fighter's stuff is not pop. They do have some songs that are, but that's obviously the songs they play most on the radio. In fact, that's how it is for some really good artist. John Mayer for instance. Of course, everyone knows him for songs like No Such Thing or Your Body Is Wonderland, but he's done some really great blues inspired stuff. In reality, he's far better live than any of his studio albums. Anyways, my point is you can't really judge a band based on their most popular work. A lot of the times it's not their best.

Scotty

That's where live performances come into play.  Seriously, take Dragonforce.  Those guys can't play for shit live.  They sound like ass.  Which makes it VERY apparent that their studio albums are one-offs, where they cut and edit songs likely 40-50 times to get it just right for the album.

When I see a band live, I want to see them perform like they do on their album, and I want to see them put on a show.  Take Megadeth for example.  Dave stood there, right foot on the amp in front of him, playing with his head down the entire concert.  Sounded great, but that's all he did, after the show, he threw up the horns and walked off stage.  I stood there dumbfounded that he wasted my time.  It was good in that it sounded great, but at that point, I might as well just put an album on and listen to that vice paying tickets and have some 16 year old think he can crank across the face for nothing more than songs that sound great, but have no performance value to them.

Then on the polar opposite side, you have In Flames.  They sound utterly fantastic live, just as good, if not better than their albums, and damn can they put on a show.  I remember the crowd going nuts when In Flames was playing Eraser and out comes Phil from All That Remains to sing along with Anders.  Quite possibly the most bad-ass moment of the night!  Whoever they hired as their sound guy is AMAZING!

I agree with you for the most part.  I'm just curious as to what your favorite Foo Fighters song is. My mother bought me their Greatest Hits album for christmas and I liked most of it.  But it wasnt great IMO.

As for Scotty, You are defiantly right.  Bands should be able to perform just as well live as in an album.  I have not listened to In Flames yet but I will check into them.  As for putting on a show I can agree with you, but maybe Dave was letting the music flow through him and that is how he reacted to it.

!@#$ YES!
In Flames when I saw them blew my mind. They were outstanding. COB was pretty good.. Didn't compared to Inflames though.
But.. A Local band that played with them. A Life Once Lost, Pretty outstanding stage performance. Music was pretty good.. Didn't really listen to them.. Was more interested in moshing. Assholes broke my phone lol. First time in a Wall of Death.. Two words.. My God..

I could name so many bands I've seen live that sounded great, but just didn't put on a great performance or weren't very enthusiastic. Or that put on a great performance, but sounded horrible. When you go to Warped Tour, you see so many bands that do this. I can honestly say the only big band I've seen that was able to totally impress me was Blink-182.

I think right now it's the new one Wheels, but I haven't listened to any of the new album besides that. The thing about that song is it came out as a single, they played it a few times here and there, and now I don't hear it on the radio at all.

Aside from that, Floaty is good as is For All the Cows. Actually, most of the songs on their first album. The Deepest Blues Are Black on In Your Honor is also one of their sleeper hits in my opinion. It's rarely played, but I think it has a great sound. Then you have Everlong of course, but the acoustic version is superior to the album version in my opinion. And also from that album Walking After You. Check out Lonely as You and Disenchanted Lullaby. A lot of stuff on Disc 2 of In Your Honor is good like Razor, On The Mend, and Virginia Moon. But of course, this is all based on opinion. If you just don't like Foo Fighters then you don't like them and that's fine. I'm just saying for me, it's not even their "popular" songs that I necessarily like the best.

DivineLegend

sorry, havent posted yet. i can say i listen to a little of everything, but mostly metal, and a wide array of it as well. from all that remains and amon amarth (i love guardians of asgaard and cry of the black birds the most) to as scotty lists scar symmetry and a few others. i don't like that heavy ass screaming as to where i can't understand anything, but i listened to sonic syndicate as meiun posted and i liked it. but i also have found some rap songs i like, mostly cause of the beat or something else to it that i like, not the artist, such as kanye wests' stronger team up with daft punk. or this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJsePXol4Ac tetris remix. i just don't like a ton of slow songs. i like the fast paced. and metal mostly fits that thirst.

EpicPhailure

I rediscovered Pendulum. I'm liking their In Silico album more than their Hold Your Colour. It feels like I'm being a traitor to DnB, but In Silico strikes a better chord inside of me.

Kbob32

Lingus I listened to a few Them Crooked Vultures songs.  I listened to New Fang and Mind Eraser (No Chaser).

They were pretty good.  not exactly my taste.  They sound a little poppy too me.  Don't get me wrong, they are pretty good, just not my kettle of fish.
VIVA LA RESISTANCE!!!!!!!!!

Lingus

Yea, I'm not sure if I'm entirely sold on the band either. It's just an interesting combination of artists.
